This is a better problem than no traffic, and it is a different problem. People are arriving. Something between arriving and contacting you is not working, and spending more on ads will simply buy more of the same outcome at a higher price.
Six causes account for nearly all of it. Check them in this order, because the early ones make the later ones irrelevant.
1. The traffic is the wrong traffic
The most common cause, and the one people look at last. If you rank for or advertise against a term people search when they are researching rather than buying, they will read and leave — behaving exactly as expected.
Look at which pages the traffic lands on and ask what the person typing that query wanted. Someone searching "what is on-page SEO" wants an explanation. Someone searching "seo service dhaka price" wants a supplier. Those need different pages, and one of them will never convert no matter what you change.
2. The page does not say what you actually do
Open your homepage and give yourself five seconds. Can a stranger say what you sell, who for, and where you are?
Headlines built from words like "innovative solutions", "digital transformation" and "synergy" fail this test. Specific beats impressive every time. "We build and rank websites for businesses in Dhaka" outperforms anything abstract, because a visitor who is not sure they are in the right place leaves rather than investigating.
3. There is nothing to believe
Visitors assume every agency claims to be good. Proof is what separates you, and proof is specific:
- Named clients, with permission.
- Real numbers, with the context that makes them meaningful.
- Reviews with a name and a business attached.
- Photographs of real people and real work, not stock imagery.
A page with no proof reads as a page that has nothing to show, whether or not that is true.
4. The next step is too large
"Request a full quotation" asks somebody who has known you for ninety seconds to commit to a process. Many will not, even when interested.
Offer a smaller step next to the big one — ask a question, get a rough price range, book fifteen minutes. And remember where you are selling: a WhatsApp link converts far better here than any form, because it costs the visitor nothing and lands somewhere they already live.
5. The form is asking too much
Every field loses people. Nine fields before anyone will read your enquiry is a filter, and it filters hardest on the people who were only mildly interested — which is most of them.
Ask for the minimum you need to reply. You can ask everything else in the first response, when they are already talking to you.
6. It is slow, or awkward on a phone
Most of your visitors are on a mid-range Android on mobile data. If the page takes six seconds, a large share never see it at all, and they will not appear as a bounce — they will simply not be there.
Check the real numbers rather than how it feels on your own laptop: how fast does your website need to be explains where to find them.
How to work out which one is yours
- Check intent first. Which queries and pages bring the traffic, and what did that person want?
- Then check the path. Where do people leave? If it is the contact page, the form is the problem. If it is the homepage, the message is.
- Then ask five real people. Not colleagues. Show them the homepage for five seconds and ask what the company does. The answers are usually uncomfortable and always useful.
Fixing conversion is almost always cheaper than buying more traffic, and it improves the return on every visit you are already paying for. If you want a straight read on which of the six is costing you enquiries, send us the URL.
